Many interpersonal relations, writing and communications classes require students to keep a journal throughout the course where they reflect on the week’s assignments and issues. For this class, you will reflect over the Internet instead of on paper. The intent is to give you confidence and skill in communicating publically over the Internet.
Rules for Internet Communications
It goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway), all comments must show respect for me and the other students. Part of the purpose of these assignments is to help you present a professional image of yourself on the Internet. If you are unsure whether you should say something, if you should bother checking a dictionary, or if a remark may offend, ask yourself, “would a prospective employer still hire me if he or she found my comment when Googling my name for a job I really want?” You will be evaluated for original thinking. An entry that just says, “I agree with Carl” is not acceptable.

I enjoyed my blogging experience. I have never blogged before so it opened my eyes to the blogging world. When I looked back and reread everyone response it clicks together. I understand why we had to each assignment and what we got out of the assignment. Thanks for the blogging experience!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed blogging with the class. There was a lot of helpful information in the articles that went along with the assignments. What I liked most was the grammar vigilante. I liked what she was doing, and also that I made some spelling/grammar errors in my post. Just a nice reminder that we all make mistakes. I didn't like writing the post for week one because I really don't like talking about myself. I enjoyed reading the posts from week one though because I got to know my classmates better.
ReplyDeleteI found this blogging experience to be quite helpful. It was nice to read other students postings and compare them to my own. It just helped show how different people can really be.The post assignment for week 1 was a very good one. It was nice to read about others and what their hobbies were along with basic information explaining themselves. I have never really blogged before so in doing this it taught me something new. This learning experience throught blogging was a great one. In doing the blogging I also taught myself to go at a more steady pace when typing so I don't make as many errors.
ReplyDeleteI thought the blogs were a great idea. They really helped bring a different prospective to some subjects. It was also nice to see the opinions and experiences of others in my class. I enjoyed how the blogs allowed me to gain an insight on my peers. I could show up to class and know a little more about them without having a conversation with them.
ReplyDeleteThis was my first time blogging, surprisingly, I enjoyed the experience. There was alot of the blogging that went along with the assignments of the class.
ReplyDeleteI found it interesting on the grammar used by individuals. I liked how you graded, and highlighted the errors that were made in the postings.
There wasn't anything that I really didn't like, because everything applies to things we can use in the real world.

I have never blogged before so I thought it was very interesting. It is very similar to discussion boards that we do at Globe. It allows you to pick a topic and get other peoples inputs on it. I thought I learned a lot while doing it and got to find out a lot of other peoples perspectives.
ReplyDeleteBlogging was an excellent way to get people thinking practically about the subjects we covered. It seemed as though it helped people wrap their minds around real-world situations that make this material relatable. Overall, people’s responses seemed as though they were very open to the ideas presented and how they were eventually going to encounter them in their professional lives. I know I will take the information I learned here into my professional career; using it further success in my future.
ReplyDeleteI learned that everyone is truely unigue. I learned a lot reading everyone elses experiences and comparing them to my own. What I like the least was the speaking in front of class. The blogging is great, I use it all the time to keep in touch with friends all over the country. I think that it will really become a part of everyones daily lives.
ReplyDeleteThe blogging experience was extremely helpful and useful teaching tool for this class. I like how it engages us on different topics each week and we get to see what our classmates write. The blog I enjoyed the most was doing a search of ourselves on the internet to see what we would find. I was extremely pleased to see I didn’t have anything out on the net that I would be embarrassed of. Overall, I think doing the blogs each week was a very good experience.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoyed blogging experience; I have never blogged in the past before. So this is the first time, it opened my eyes to the blogging world. When I looked back and reread of everyone blogged and responded its clicks together. I understand why we had to each assignment and what we got out of the assignment. It’s also helped me to improve my writing and knows the public blog and keeps up reaches each other and friends. ReplyDeleteI truly enjoyed blogging, I had only heard about it before starting this class. In reading the other students blogs, it was interesting to read every one else's opinions, and how each and every one of us had a different way of looking at things. I enjoyed reading the article's that you gave to us, some where very interesting. The article that I really enjoyed, was the one on how people would write one word and actually use another word, for example there or their. Thank you for the blogging experience. ReplyDeleteI learned that people have a differance in opion on certain topics. I thought that the blogging experiance was a great idea, it was a way to express our thoughts. I have never done a blog before, so this was a new experiance for me.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I enjoyed the blogging experience every week. The very first blog entry was fun. It is always neat getting to know the other students and their interests. The other blog assignments were all awesome and I consider them to be very important whether in the workplace or in my personal life. I do not have a favorite one because I enjoyed them all. I really liked everyone's opinions and their real life examples. Searching my own name on the Internet was a great one. I will always think twice before posting something online or on my social networking sites. I also appreciated the feedback from my instructor.
ReplyDeleteI am not much of a blogging person. Not to sound mean or anything but I just couldn't get into it. It was, although, very interesting to read others points of views on these subjects over the last couple weeks. Also I liked the feedback from the instructor, she was very helpful.
ReplyDeleteThe aspect of blogging I liked the most is that as a student, we can share our opinions on many topics each week. You can do that in a normal class, but this is more of a synopsis of how we think about a certain topic which is interesting. The thing I learned from other students blogs is that we all come from a variety of backgrounds. That really showed in the blogs from week to week, we would get a different point of view for each topic and I thought that was interesting.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a different idea, but a good one. I think it gets us use to expressing our views via the internet. I thought it was very interesting to see how everyone else felt on a certain topic. You can learn a lot about your classmates by reading their blogs. You can learn a lot about a ones personality also. I don't think blogging is going away anytime soon, so it was nice to get familiarized with it.
ReplyDeleteI have to admitt I like blogging. I had started blogging a couple years ago and I liked it then. I had quit for awhile because I was too busy, but, these blogs have started me back up on blogging and I am glad because I forgot how much fun it was. To read other peoples blog posts was fun because I got to learn more about them and see what their opinions were. I liked the unit 7 blog especially just because I seen how much my name shows up when you search it, and it was a little scary but nothing terrible so I wasn't worried.

ReplyDeleteThis was my first blogging experience. I thought it went great. The thing I loved the most was that I got to see everyone’s opinion about each topic. This experience helped me speak out little more and helped me with grammar as well. All and all this was a great experience.
ReplyDeleteThe blogging was a great assignment. At first I didn't want to do it because I didn't want others to see what I had to say but now I find it helpful. Blogging has been a great assignment. It is a good assignment for any class.
ReplyDeleteI feel that blogging was very helpful and interesting to me. I have never blogged before and it was a new experience. I enjoyed reading all of my classmates comments and this has helped me to get to know them more and their comments were very interesting. I think this is a good experience to learn how to write in a better way and learning to use grammar skills. I enjoyed all of the posts, so I can not pick a favorite. I also liked the way they were graded because this helped me to see where I was having problems with my spelling and grammar skills.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed blogging. I can honestly say that I never have before. I like how the topic is picked, so I can think about what I did in my past and present life. I think blogging is a way to let go and be open-minded. It is interesting to see what others write about on the same topics. It gives me better ideas or ways to improve writing. I enjoy writing, so I think this is a good experience that every person should at least try once.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy blogging in classes because when everyone is writing about the same thing you can read your classmates blogs and get ideas from it. You can also see who you relate with in a discussion. I really enjoy writing and getting my ideas out there and blogging allows me to do that and for me to get feedback from my other peers. Theres nothing really I don't like about blogging exsept maybe writing about something you don't agree with. But otherwise its a good experience and I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI liked the idea of seeing what other people thought on some of the different articles because there are so many different points of view. I didn't like the idea of having to try and remember to do the blogs because I am not always on the internet. I learned that everyone has different ideas on different topics, yet some are similar.
ReplyDeleteThis is my second quarter blogging both in Erica's class. I find the blogging experienc to be very interesting. It is fun to see everyone's opinion's, reactions, and experiences. It would be nice to get more involved with other professional blog sites.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a very challenging quarter for me. First I was sick and then my mother had open heart surgery. I have spent a lot of my time playing make up in my classes. I have never had experience in blogging before and I liked how you could see other peoples point of view. I also like how Erica would comment and let us know how we were doing. I really enjoyed have Erica as a teacher.
